Our investment philosophy is centered on putting the entrepreneur first. We are the "go to" partner for our management teams, taking every opportunity to roll-up our sleeves and help with recruiting and strategy, as well as connections to other entrepreneurs, mentors and business partners. We are committed to putting a fair deal on the table, being unusually responsive to our entrepreneurs' needs and always holding the companies' interests above our own. We believe in communication that is open, honest and direct.

Our investment model is designed with today's market reality in mind. The current environment presents entrepreneurs with lower start-up costs and more efficient distribution options. We know that too much capital early on can take away what may be attractive exit options later and mute an entrepreneur's success through dilution. Conversely, too little capital can substantially increase the risk of the venture. Our initial investments typically range between $200,000 and $2 million, with the expectation that this commitment will increase over time.

We invest primarily in Texas-based companies. Although we will look at other opportunities on an exception basis, we have found that we do best when we are close to our management teams. We favor capital efficient companies that understand the leverage of minimum-viable-product strategies on making informed, measured progress. Our investments tend to be either technology driven or focused on opportunities where technology can be used to build significant proprietary barriers over time.
